laboratory conditions

The founders of LPAG have worked with all of the species pictured below, in over 18 different laboratories, zoos, field sites, and sanctuaries. We have experience caring for monkeys and apes  (and rodents and birds!) in a wide variety of housing conditions – from plastic tubs containing large mouse families to naturalistic islands that are home to large groups of chimpanzees. These pages describe our experiences with the different housing conditions for monkeys and chimpanzees in US laboratories.
